Shadow & Reflection

With this assignment I simply moved stuff around in my room. I drew the shades on my bay windows and reflected light off the window. I also used another desklight below the desk to shine on the chair.

For the second photo I really wanted to get a cool evil look. I was particularly inspired by the character in the film Night of the Hunter with Robert Mitchum. I have a mirror on top of a mantle so I simply shot an angle where I can could see me coming through the door.

Expected & Unexpected

For these shots I used a smaller framed camera, my friends nikon, so the resolution is a little less defined. I assumed "expected" could really be anything so I had some of my friends pose on an apartment balcony. I arranged them so they all had their own visual prominence.

The other shot I simply took through a car window while my friend pressed her hands on it.

Visualization - SUBJECTIVE & OBJECTIVE

Objective Photo: I chose a wrench to use as my subject. It's straight forward, plain, and gets the job done. I simply just used a desk lamp over it and used printer paper as the background. I wanted the light to separate the dark handles from the gray steel, so therefore I shone it in the middle.

Subjective Photo: My friend and I went to the East Bay suburbs to skate when I stumbled across this drainage ditch next to the skate park. It was an overcast day and seemed overall glum. My friend came to investigate and I got this interesting photo of him peering over the slimy ditch pondering.
